READ:  Psalm 18:30-50

THANKSGIVING – Psalm 117

PERSONAL REPENTANCE

Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart (Psalm 15:1-2)

Let us Pray:  Repent for every unrighteous work that will kept you from the presence of the Lord.  Ask the Lord to search our hearts for evil ways (gossip, critical judgements).

REPENTANCE FOR THE SINS OF THE CHURCH AND NATIONS

Offer Prayers of Repentance for Sin in the Church:

His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.  Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. (Isaiah 56:10-11)

Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves. (Luke 19:46)

Let us Pray:  Repent for shepherds who are milking the sheep verses feeding the sheep and for merchandizing the anointing.  Repent for greediness, selfishness, prayerlessness and lack of reverence for the House of the Lord.

Let us Pray:   For Revival in the Church.  (Joel 2:28-29)

Offer Prayers of Repentance for Sins in our Nation:

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.   Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. (Psalm 32 1-2 also ref. Psalm 51:1-4)

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. (Leviticus 18:22-28).

Repent for:

 Immoral practices and defilement of the Land (Sexual Immorality)

 Wickedness, hatred, racism, abortion, murder, selfishness, and self-satisfaction.

 Pride, negligence of Leaders.

 Idolatry (worship of false gods - including self, greed, Mammon (money))

Higher Ground

I’m pressing on the upward way,

New heights I’m gaining every day;

Still praying as I onward bound,

“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

Refrain:

Lord, lift me up, and let me stand

By faith on Canaan’s tableland;

A higher plane than I have found,

Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

My heart has no desire to stay

Where doubts arise and fears dismay;

Though some may dwell where these abound,

My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.

Refrain:

Lord, lift me up, and let me stand

By faith on Canaan’s tableland;

A higher plane than I have found,

Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

I want to live above the world,

Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;

For faith has caught the joyful sound,

The song of saints on higher ground.

Refrain:

Lord, lift me up, and let me stand

By faith on Canaan’s tableland;

A higher plane than I have found,

Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

I want to scale the utmost height

And catch a gleam of glory bright;

But still I’ll pray till rest I’ve found,

“Lord, lead me on to higher ground.”

Refrain:

Lord, lift me up, and let me stand

By faith on Canaan’s tableland;

A higher plane than I have found,

Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
